Last year over at The Real Housewife of Bedford County, I blogged in November about giving thanks. I have a lot for which to be thankful. I'll kick it off this year by being thankful for Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.
Katie and I will be there today and overnight (hopefully just one night!) for surgery to remove her tonsils and adenoids. This is a surgery I've been through twice already - once with David and once with Jack - so I'm not nervous at all about it. We have a great doctor who is very experienced with children with Down syndrome, and particularly with children with small airways (which Katie has), so I am confident that everything will go well. I am thankful that Vanderbilt is here and is such a fantastic resource for us, and particularly thankful that our doctor is in Nashville and will be the person operating on my sweet girl. I wish we never needed to use the services of Vandy, but since we do I am thankful we are able to!
Say some prayers for my girl to have a successful, complication free surgery and a quick recovery!
