Today was our last visit with Katie.
She is SO smart. We brought this small cow, and she immediately picked it up, put it right to her face and said, "Moooooooo!" I've never in my life been so excited or so proud for a four year old child to spontaneously moo.
She looked so pretty in her green dress.
We spent some time using a sign language app on the iPad. She immediately got closer, and she repeated the signs stop, bird, tree, all done, and more, just from watching the baby on the screen. She kept saying yes and picking the iPad up and kissing it. She is going to pick up sign language so quickly.
She had FANCY hair today!
She was so loving today, giving lots of hugs and kisses. I picked her up for a hug, and as soon as I put her down she turned around and stuck her arms up in the air for me to hold her. I, of course, was more than happy to.
She was little miss sass, shaking her fist at Chris when he was teasing her. The assistant director of the facility was in the room during our visit, and Katie got a little wild. The worker asked her if she wanted to say good-bye and go back to her group, and she got loud, said no, shook her fist, then pointed at her shaking her finger and yelling. We have a vocal one!
She was thrilled to play ball with Chris again. She loves this beach ball and sits patiently with her hands out to catch.
We've noticed that when she's nervous, excited, or upset she chews her fingers. We're going to get a Sophie Giraffe and see if she'll chew that instead to help transition from that behavior.
She was happy to look in the mirror with Chris and play peek-a-boo. Good thing we've got a mirror for her room, because she loves it!
We did lots of coloring. I think the book is full - be looking for those in frames on walls near you. . .
I love her little hands!
We went to a spot that overlooks the city to pick up some souvenirs.
It's quite overcast, but you can see all of the city.
And it's Matryoshka doll heaven!
Tomorrow is court at 3:00 p.m. our time, which is 6:00 a.m. CST or 5:00 a.m. EST. Please be thinking all of your good thoughts for us during that time!
