This is Albina.
Right now there is a fabulous giveaway going on at Patti's blog to help the Jolly family bring Albina home.
The Jolly family lives about four hours away from us. And Albina?
Sweet Albina lives with our Katie Ruth.
Albina and Katie Ruth were in their baby house together, and now they are in the orphanage together. Albina and Katie Ruth are the same age, and Albina also has Down syndrome.
It's one thing for me to look at photos of children and wish they had a family, or that I could help them. It's another thing when I've held that child in a country 6,000 miles away, and whispered to her that her mama is working so hard to bring her home.
It's different when I've watched her play in the little kitchen with Katie Ruth, and when I've seen how little she is. It's different when I've picked her up, snuggled her, and heard her sweet giggle.
When I've seen her hold hands with another friend and laugh at silly faces. . . it makes it different.
When she's played with Katie, and I've watched sassy Miss Thing boss little Albina around and have thought about that same scene playing out here at our house. Katie and Albina have been together for years, and soon they will be separated, when Katie comes home.
Albina's forever mama, Jonana, and I will make sure these girls will still know each other, will stay connected, and will continue to be friends. Please visit Patti's blog and see how you can help the Jolly family bring sweet Albina home, and win some great prizes in the process!
